AN ELGIN-based charity is hosting its annual golf event to raise funds for sensory impaired people in Moray.

The North East Sensory Services (NESS) Texas Scramble is taking place on Sunday, 11 June at Hopeman Golf Club. All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting blind and deaf people across the North-east.

NESS – which has offices in Elgin, Aberdeen and Dundee – is a leading provider of sensory services for blind and deaf people in Scotland. Through regular fundraising events, the charity can continue to provide practical support and advice to people of all ages that have been affected by a sensory impairment.

The NESS Texas Scramble is popular with golf fans of all ages and abilities, due to its simple and straightforward format. With tee times available throughout the day, teams of up to four people can enjoy a fun-filled day of golf with spectacular views of the Moray coastline.

Bruce Cruickshank, fundraising assistant at NESS Moray, said: “The NESS Texas Scramble is always a popular event on our fundraising calendar, as it is open to absolutely everyone, meaning that you don’t need to be a skilled golfer to take part.

“In the past, we have received lots of positive feedback from people who have said how enjoyable the day is from start to finish. We hope that this encourages even more people to take part and help raise vital funds for sensory impaired people in Moray.

“All the funds raised on the day will help NESS continue supporting all of its service users to overcome the practical and emotional effects of sight or hearing loss, so we are extremely grateful to all of those taking part.”

Tickets for the NESS Texas Scramble cost £70 per team of four and can be bought from https://brsgolf.com/hopeman/opens_home.php or by contacting Bruce Cruickshank on 0345 271 2345 or bruce.cruickshank@nesensoryservices.org.
