STV Group plc today announces that Simon Pitts will join the board as chief executive officer on January 3 2018.
This appointment is made following the announcement in April 2017 of Rob Woodward’s intention to step down from the board and his role as chief executive officer within a period of 12 months.
Simon Pitts will join from ITV plc where he is a member of the executive board holding the position of managing director, Online, Pay TV, Interactive & Technology.
Over a 17 year career at ITV plc, Simon held a range of senior roles, was one of the main architects of the company’s recent transformation, and oversaw strong growth in ITV’s digital businesses. Additionally, Simon is currently vice-chair of the trustees of the Royal Television Society.
