Media release: NABS art auction returns to Edinburgh

NABS – the support organisation for the media and advertising industry – hosts its annual art auction at a public event at Whitespace, Edinburgh on Thursday 26 October.

NABS’ Art Auction – a free-to-attend event – sees the advertising industry flex its creative muscle as 100 original artwork canvasses submitted will be sold to the highest bidders this week.

Artworks have been produced by Hamish Pringle, ex director-general of the IPA and a published artist, Jim Downie, Gerry Farrell and John Denholm, ex Leith – now founders of Gerry Farrell Ink and Denholm Associates, respectively.

Two original pieces of art have also been provided by Daniel Labrosse – a celebrated French-Hungarian visual artist, illustrator and animator who has exhibited at the Tate Modern.

Kate Harris, NABS’ head of regions co-ordinating the event, said: “This is a key date in the NABS calendar for Edinburgh. We’re excited to showcase the best of adland’s creativity in our unique fundraiser.”

NABS Scotland chair, Mark Gorman, added: “The NABS Art Auction is a great social gathering at Whitespace and is an opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind artworks created by the people of our industry community.”

Advance bids can also be submitted by midnight on Wednesday 25 October, preview the artworks going on display here. All proceeds go towards helping NABS take care of the wellbeing of those working in the advertising and media community nationally.
