A NEW radio show devoted to Scottish football will broadcast on talkSPORT in Scotland for the first time this evening (Thursday 25 January).

Launched by Wireless Group and News Scotland, The Scottish Football Show will be a weekly, three-hour show with in-depth discussion about what is happening in league football up and down the country, as well as the Scotland national sides.

With lead presenter, Ally McCoist, alongside co-host, Mark McGhee, listeners can expect trademark talkSPORT insight and wit from two men who have played and managed at the top level of Scottish football.

They will be joined each week by big-name guests as they debate and analyse the hottest stories from the Scottish Premiership and beyond.

The show will air from 7pm-10pm on talkSPORT in Scotland and a two-hour edited version will also be repeated UK-wide on talkSPORT 2 on Friday evenings at 10pm. A podcast of the show will be made available to download following Friday’s broadcast.

Richard Bogie, general manager of News Scotland, said: “The launch of The Scottish Football Show is an exciting addition to talkSPORT’s already extensive football offering. The show will bring together the biggest names in Scottish football to give their expert insight on the game’s latest news and moves. In Ally and Mark, listeners will be treated to plenty of good humour and no doubt a good story or two from their time playing and managing in Scotland.

“News Scotland is the fastest-growing media brand in Scotland, boasting market leading newspaper titles and today’s announcement is another example of our determination to further boost our radio presence, supported by our colleagues at Wireless Group. This show will be key in helping grow our reach and creating excellent opportunities for advertisers and commercial partners.”

Liam Fisher, Wireless national radio controller said: “The Scottish Football Show is the start of some exciting new programming for our football mad Scottish listeners. With Ally McCoist and Mark McGhee at the helm, the programme will cover all the drama of the SPFL making sure our listeners will get closer to the heart of all the Scottish football stories. Expect passionate punditry and some great stories from the two men who’ve been there and done it in the Scottish game.”

You can listen to The Scottish Football Show on talkSPORT via DAB digital radio or 1089 or 1053 AM, online at talksport.com or via the talkSPORT app.
