LEADING Scottish PR agency, Pagoda, has expanded its planning and development division, opening a new office in Newcastle, while adding both new people and new clients.

Pagoda has a track record of success in managing pre-planning consultation and marketing communications for house builders, infrastructure projects and commercial developments.

Andrew Lester joins the business as a non-board director, heading a new office in North East England, which will capitalise on a wider geographical reach. Andrew, who joins from political property communications agency becg (formerly HardHat), will spearhead growth in the region, based on his considerable expertise.

Also joining Pagoda is Gemma Richardson, who previously worked in planning consultancy and brings wide public affairs skills to the team. She will manage the PR programme for new client EDPR, developer of a 90-turbine offshore windfarm.

Other recent wins for the business include REG Power Management, Scottish Land Commission and energy business, Innogy.

Managing director, Angela Casey comments: “Andrew and Gemma are strengthening our already impressive team of experts in planning and developments. With wide understanding of politics and local government, the team should be the first port of call for anyone requiring support through the planning stages of their development. Reaching into the North East of England will build on our client base and takes our specialist skills into a new market.”

Pagoda is based in Edinburgh and offers consultancy in public affairs; media relations; digital and online PR; SEO; and wider communications. Headed by a team including Angela Casey, Ian Coldwell, Giselle Dye, the business is one of the leading consultancies in the north.
