Quarriers Ladies Lunch 2018 1

QUARRIERS, one of Scotland’s leading social care charities, enjoyed a £12,000 boost after kind-hearted guests dug deep for its fourth annual Ladies’ Lunch held on Sunday 29 April.

Around 200 ladies attended the event hosted by actor, entertainer and former River City star, Tom Urie, who provided an exclusive DJ set.

He was joined by Leah MacRae, best known for her roles in Gary Tank Commander and River City as well as magician, Billy Reid.

All the money raised will go towards the vital services provided by the social care charity for vulnerable children, adults and families facing a range of issues including homelessness, poverty, disability, unpaid carers and people affected by epilepsy.

Tom Urie said: “I was proud to support the Quarriers Ladies’ Lunch and play my part in helping to raise vital funds to maintain the many important services provided by Quarriers.”

Alice Harper, Quarriers chief executive, said: “I’m thrilled our Ladies’ Lunch has returned for its fourth year and has become a much-loved event in the Glasgow social calendar. On behalf of everyone at Quarriers we would like to thank guests and donors for their support and generosity and a special thanks goes to Tom Urie for being our brilliant host. The money raised from our Ladies’ Lunch will help to make a real and lasting difference to the people we support, helping them to reach their full potential.”
