STUART Cosgrove, leader of Glasgow’s C4 bid, gave the keynote speech at the launch of Media Zoo Scotland’s £1million creative hub in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City.

He was joined by Mark Hedgecoe, head of BBC Studios at Pacific Quay who welcomed Media Zoo to Glasgow’s growing creative community.

Over 100 guests attended the champagne event as Media Zoo revealed its state of the art offices including a TV studio, edit suites, graphic design and top class sound facilities.

Rachel Pendered, Media Zoo’s managing director, says, “We think our unique combination of film, public relations, digital learning and events offers Scotland something new. I was pleased that our guests – which included many of Scotland’s leading businesses – were so enthusiastic about it”

Media Zoo Scotland welcomed over 100 guests to celebrate the launch of its new creative hub.

The £1 million investment in the grade one listed old Sherriff Court building at Merchant City includes a three-camera TV studio, state of the art edit suites, a graphic design centre and top-class sound facilities.

Stuart Cosgrove gave the key note speech updating the guests about the state of Glasgow’s Channel 4 bid.

Stuart says: “A number of potential sites have now been identified in the city and I am pleased to say our C4 bid is looking exceptionally strong.”

Media Zoo makes both broadcast and corporate TV programmes and is currently EVCOM’s Production Company Of The Year. It is also one of PR Week’s top 30 independent PR companies and has won over 50 awards in the last five years

Mark Hedgecoe, head of BBC Studios at Pacific Quay, says: “The creative scene in Scotland has never been stronger and Media Zoo should fit right in.”

Media Zoo now employs over 100 staff in London and Glasgow and its clients include RBS, INEOS, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Schroders and IKEA to name but a few.

Mark Killick, Media Zoo’s creative director, adds: “Media Zoo is planning to double the size of its business in Scotland within twelve months so it was fantastic that so many senior business leaders came to our launch event to find out more about us.”
