To be awarded to an individual who has given their time without charge to drive someone in their community.

Volunteer escort of the year

To be awarded to an individual who has given their time without charge to escort someone using transport services.

Organisation of the year

To be awarded to a voluntary sector group that has done the most to make a difference through its transport services to a local community.

The winner of each category will receive a certificate and prize worth £200 sponsored by First Aberdeen and Stagecoach North Scotland.

Leader of Moray Council, Cllr Graham Leadbitter, said: “Volunteers across Moray provide a lifeline to so many people when it comes to transport. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the work that these people do in supporting their communities.”

Nominations are open until Tuesday 25 September with prizes being awarded on Friday 9 November.

Nomination forms are available from access points and libraries across Moray, or can be downloaded online at www.nestrans.org.uk/projects/travel-awareness/gvta/

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
