CLYDE 1 is celebrating after the latest RAJAR figures reveal the leading station has achieved strong results again this quarter.

Clyde 1’s popular football phone-in Superscoreboard – which returned to air this week to mark the start of the new football season – reported a record reach for its 6-8pm weekday programme of 252,000 listeners, the highest reach since Q4 2016.

The show boasts the highest audience share of all time with 29.9 per cent surpassing the previous outstanding high of 24 per cent in Q1 2017. Total hours are also at an all-time high with a staggering 685,000, bettering the previous high of 596,000 in Q1 2017 by almost 100,000 total hours.

As a station, Clyde 1 has added an impressive 49,000 listeners since the previous quarter, taking total listeners to 553,000. Underlining it’s prominence in Glasgow and the West, Clyde 1’s total hours are up from 4,362,000 in the previous quarter to 5,098,000 – an incredible increase of 736,000 hours.

Clyde 1’s ‘Bowie@Breakfast’ has also had a great quarter, with weekly listeners increasing by 43,000, with 331,000 weekly listeners this quarter compared to 288,000 in the previous quarter.

Meanwhile, Clyde 2 has also enjoyed excellent results, adding 17,000 weekly listeners to give the station a total of 128,000 listeners tuning in every week this quarter.

Graham Bryce, managing director of Bauer Radio in Scotland, said: “Radio Clyde has once again proven itself to be Glasgow and the West’s favourite station. The strong results for Clyde 1 and Clyde 2, and in particular the successes of Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard and ‘Bowie@Breakfast’, highlights that as a station we know our audience and we continue to deliver the content that our listeners tune in to hear.

“These results are also a fitting legacy to our much-loved content director, Brian Paige, who passed away in July. Our successes are testament to Brian’s outstanding work at the station and the mantra he instilled in each and every one of us about doing the basics brilliantly.

“Radio remains an exciting place to be with recent reports highlighting that it is the fastest growing medium with 12.5 per cent growth*, putting it ahead of all other platforms, including the internet, for advertising spend. We’ve just announced the appointment of Lynsey Collins as sales director at Radio Clyde and we are looking forward to her building on the successes of the station.”
