NUJ Training Scotland has a few free places remaining on a training course next week, in Perth, about GDPR.

This half-day session will help you get to grips with this new data protection regime and its implications for journalism. It will include considerations of data sharing, consent, information security, data subject rights and issues relating to photography.

Basic GDPR requirements. Data protection principles and data subject rights.

Public perceptions. What people might expect, correctly or incorrectly.

The public interest, what it means – the basis for journalism exemptions from GDPR requirements.
