Media release: Free training places being offered by NUJ Scotland

PublicRelationsToUse

NUJ Training Scotland have a limited number of free places available on courses running in Glasgow next week:

Wednesday, 23 January 2019 Collaborative leadership

This course was developed to combat ‘poor’ management practices across different sectors: hierarchical management structures, misogynistic attitudes and poor people management. The course, which has received outstanding feedback from participants, uses a psychologist and an expert in non-violent methods of conflict resolution as tutors, and is designed to create nurturing, supportive environments for those working in the creative industries.

Friday, 25 January 2019 The effective freelance

This course is designed to cover not only the essentials of working as a freelance – organisation, negotiating, producing work, markets, law and financial record-keeping – but also living as a freelance, including personal finance, etc. It will include breaking into new markets, establishing terms, chasing payment, improving returns, specialist journalism, handling money, tax and deductible expenses, and copyright.

Friday, 25 and Saturday, 26 January 2019 DSLR filming and editing

A two-day intensive introduction to video content for multiplatform delivery and learners will look at all aspects of moving from stills to video.

Anyone wishing to book a place should contact joanm@nuj.org.uk.
