WHAT is believed to be Scotland’s first sport sponsorship conference is taking place in Glasgow next week, featuring over 20 educational sessions led by industry experts to improve the understanding, knowledge, power and value of sponsorship for businesses and athletes.

The Via Sponsorship conference looks to raise the profile of sport sponsorship in Scotland on 5th and 6th March and has some of the leading players in the sponsorship industry from around the world coming to speak, educate and demonstrate just how sponsorship has built awareness, generated sales, created jobs and supported their local economies.

Speakers include the chair of sportscotland and co-founder of the Homeless World Cup, a director of Kilmarnock Football Club, the founder of Scottish Women in Sport, the director of the European Sponsorship Association, the brand director of AkzoNobel, the commercial director of Aberdeen Football Club and many more.

The conference will also feature top-class presentations, real-life case studies, panel discussions and workshops, with plenty of opportunities for networking. It is also set to attract prominent speakers, sponsors, delegates in the industry and young athletes at the start of their careers.

Sessions will include learning what makes it through the ‘firewall’ in gaining sponsorship from QTS’s marketing manager, how to value your business in sponsorship from the MKTG insight director, what makes it in the media from a co-founder of allmediascotland.com and real-life examples of how sponsorship has added value from the perspective of attending businesses and athletes.

Further to its educational aspect, the conference being put on in dedication to the memory of the young athlete, Ellie Soutter and will be supporting the Ellie Soutter Foundation.
