Media release: Callum Baird appointed managing editor of both The National and the Evening Times


NEWSQUEST Scotland is delighted to announce the appointment of National editor, Callum Baird, to managing editor of both The National and the Evening Times.

Callum will assume full responsibility for both titles, reporting to editor-in-chief, Donald Martin.

Says Graham Morrison, managing director, Newsquest Scotland: “The promotion is well deserved and a recognition of the excellent performance of The National and Sunday National across print and digital, which has delivered year-on-year growth in sales, subscriptions and online traffic, which is nothing short of remarkable and unequalled across the industry.

Editor-in-chief, Donald Martin, added: “Callum is an outstanding editor and I look forward to seeing his editorial and commercial creativity given a wider remit. The Evening Times and its staff will benefit from his editorship and I look forward to it enjoying success across all fronts in line with Callum’s track record on The National.”

Callum’s appointment takes effect from Monday 4th November.
