THE Times Scotland is launching Alba, a new weekly lifestyle section covering travel, food and drink, outdoors, events and entertainment – all from a Scottish perspective.
Overseen by Gabriella Bennett, The Times Scotland’s lifestyle correspondent, it will be published on Saturdays in print and online, and the first edition will appear on February 1.
As well as coverage of general lifestyle news and events, Alba will feature a weekly restaurant review from Chitra Ramaswamy, a drink of the week supplied by bars and pubs around Scotland, and travel pages covering both staycations and foreign travel.
There will also be weekly contributions from Gabriella Bennett, Michelin-starred chef, Tom Kitchin, and Peter Irvine.
Gabriella Bennett commented: “I am excited to be overseeing the production of Alba as we significantly expand and enhance our Scottish lifestyle coverage.
“It is sometimes forgotten how fortunate we are to have such a vibrant food, drink and hospitality scene in Scotland. I look forward to exploring the sector and bringing our readers’ attention to the opportunities right on our doorstep, offering insight to help them plan their next night out, day trip or holiday.”
Magnus Llewellin, editor of The Times Scotland, added: “The launch of Alba broadens our appeal in Scotland and is a further demonstration of our commitment to high-quality journalism and our drive to continue enhancing the product we deliver for our readers.”
