DETERMIND not to miss out on their planned upcoming festival date, the Knockengorroch World Ceilidh family are arranging a live-streamed event this Saturday.

The virtual event on 23 May will feature workshops, live performances and sets from artists and DJs who would have been playing in the hills this weekend, plus the opportunity to catch up with old and new Knockengorroch friends.

Artists joining include Mungos Hi Fi, Simon Emmerson (Afro Celt Sound System), Samedia Shebeen, Mary Macmaster (Poozies), Samson Sounds, Mood Swings, members of Shooglenifty and more. They plan to have the traditional Knockengorroch ceilidh featuring members of Awry and the chance to take part in Club Mud, Highland and Indian dance workshops.

They are inviting people to post images of themselves in ‘Celestial Beings’ outfits – their theme for 2020 – to have a chance to win Knockengorroch prizes.

The festival notes: “One beauty of an online event is that Knockengorrochers from across the world old and new can join in so please do! Come share memories, photos and videos of Knockengorroch. Also, we’re turning this round in a very short time so things might not be super slick – tune in to find out what happens. The Knockengorroch spirit will not be dampened!”

For more details and updates, visit the Knockengorroch Facebook event and for updates on line-up and more.

They have also set up a Justgiving donation page for those who can to donate. Proceeds will be split between the artists that participate, who have lost most of their income due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
