THE Supplier Development Programme (SDP) and The Scottish Government have announced a free, open supplier meeting for the future National Civil Engineering Framework for Works and Associated Services, including Roads and Roads Maintenance to be delivered by webinar on Thursday, 27 January 2022.

The framework will be multi-lot with multiple suppliers for works of varying size, value, and complexity across Scotland, which can be individually called-off as required by Scottish public sector organisations.

The estimated total value for this framework – over the four year duration – is £600,000,000.

Nick Ford, director of Procurement & Property at the Scottish Government, will open the meeting with the Morag Angus, chief surveyor for Scotland, with contributions from the Construction Procurement Policy Unit, the Collaborative Construction Team, Transport Scotland, BASE Scotland, SDP and industry.

Speaking in advance of the meeting, Nick Ford said: “This supplier event is a springboard for wider engagement with contractors and suppliers in the construction market as we set out to procure our first construction framework.

“The event will provide potential bidders with an overview of the framework, the pipeline of projects and the benefits.

“We want businesses to give their initial thoughts and views, prior to publishing the Contract Notice.

“We are also keen to gauge industry interest in being framework suppliers and from smaller businesses who can form part of the supply chain.”

Gillian Cameron, SDP programme manager, said: “This event is open to Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 contractors, including Scottish SMEs, supported businesses, and third sector organisations.

“Businesses want to know the steps they need to follow to be part of this supply chain, and this event is an unmissable opportunity to be part of that process from the start.

“The Supplier Development Programme is proud to support the public sector’s approach to sustainable, open and transparent procurement.”

Suppliers interested in bidding for the Scottish Government’s Civil Engineering Works and Associated Services Framework can register for this Open Supplier Meeting online and register formal interest on the Public Contracts Scotland website.
