Media release: Best-selling Glasgow author, Carmen Reid, launches latest romantic comedy novel, Celebrity Shopper

THE latest novel from Glasgow based best selling author, Carmen Reid launches today (Thursday 30 Sep). Celebrity Shopper is the fourth in the series of romantic comedy books about Annie Valentine, personal-shopper-turned-TV-star.

Formerly a journalist, Scottish author, Carmen Reid, has sold close to one million copies in ten countries.

In Celebrity Shopper, after years of advising people on the most fabulous colour dress for an important party or the loveliest cut of trouser suit to make the best impression in a job interview, Annie Valentine has now hit the big time and is presenting her own popular TV Fashion series!

Annie has just given birth and has had to leave partner, Ed holding the baby, or more accurately babies… as she has had twins!

Ed has taken a sabbatical from teaching in order to become house-husband extraordinaire, and he’s finding it a little stressful, especially when Annie’s older children Lana and Owen are thrown into the mix.

And that’s without even mentioning their dotty granny who has come to live with them for a while.

So, life at home is slightly strained although it’s nothing compared to life on-set. How will Annie and the family cope? Especially when a blast from the past arrives unexpectedly?

Celebrity Shopper is another fabulous novel from the talented Carmen Reid.

All of the warm and funny characters that we have grown to love and made her previous three Annie Valentine books such a joy to read are here…sexy Svetlana, adorable Owen, stroppy Lana, patient Ed, and adventures are to be had by all.

A trip to Paris for Fashion Week, a trip up a mountain in heels, a trip to hospital for a builder hired by Annie to carry out yet more home improvements and a trip up the aisle for one happy couple.

Annie’s hit the big time, but can she have it all? Published by Corgi, 30th September 2010, £6.99

Celebrity Shopper is the fourth book in the Annie Valentine series.

Carmen Reid also writes the St Judes series of books for teenagers.
