Media release: Bilingual staff grow Scottish SME, Lingo24

Lingo24

EDINBURGH-based translation service provider, Lingo24, has grown its London office with the recruitment of two new Urdu and Arabic-speaking account managers, furthering the company’s international sales strategy.

Lingo24’s London translation office is now home to five people, taking its UK personnel to 20 and its global headcount to 140 people.

Shareen Shah joins Lingo24 having previously worked for the Metropolitan Police.

Shareen will be focussing her efforts on local London businesses, but as a fluent Urdu speaker, she will also manage clients in Urdu-speaking regions around the world.

And Shady Elkholy joins Lingo24 coming from a similar position in a London-based translation company. Like Shareen, Shady will focus on London businesses, but as an Egyptian national and fluent Arabic speaker, he will also work with clients from across the Arab world.

Founder, Christian Arno, says: “Arabic is the fifth most common tongue on the planet and having Shady on board is a massive boost for us and our international client base. Urdu is spoken by about 60 million people across the world, so Shareen’s linguistic skills will help Lingo24 massively too.”

With offices in London, Edinburgh and Aberdeen in the UK, as well as hubs in the US, Romania, Panama, France, Spain and New Zealand, Lingo24 has a strong global presence which means it can offer a genuine 24-hour translation service.

And with clients in over 60 countries, Lingo24’s latest additions mean it is well placed to manage clients across an even broader spectrum of global marketing communication.

“I think it’s important to speak to businesses in their own language,” said Arno. “Lingo24 now employs native speaking Account Managers across nine languages in the UK, and the fact that we don’t rely on English to speak to clients – even though they may well speak English – is incredibly important for our long-term success.

“By combining a multilingual direct sales force with our presence in the foreign language internet, which includes websites in many different languages besides English, our international trade strategy leverages both the untapped resource of marketing online in foreign languages and traditional direct sales.”

Christian Arno is available to comment on the above appointments, and how businesses can benefit from appointing multilingual personnel in combination with a multilingual online marketing strategy.
