ABERDEEN-based sand monitoring and management services specialists, Sand Monitoring Services Ltd (SMS), announced today that it has achieved ISO 14001 environmental certification, its third accreditation in five years.
Says a spokesperson: “The accreditation is awarded to companies that implement a successful series of core standards for designing and implementing an effective environmental management system (EMS), which controls and reduces a business’ negative impacts on the environment.
“This is a significant achievement for SMS, illustrating competency, good ethical practices and quality assurance across its environmental considerations. This accreditation comes in addition to SMS’s existing ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18002:2007 accreditations.”
Andrew Kinsler, field services manager for SMS, comments: “We are delighted to have been awarded this certification by the British Standards Institution as it demonstrates our dedicated approach to professional practice.
“Our concentrated commitment and focus on environmental improvement has been a year-long, company-wide effort, and I’d like to thank each staff member for their contributions towards this accreditation.
“We constantly strive to improve and develop our operations to become best in class. By achieving ISO 14001 standard, we have taken another step towards our ambition, which is to become the preferred provider of sand monitoring and sand management services to the oil and gas industry.”
SMS currently works with some of the largest oil and gas operators in the world, providing leading sand management services to the industry.
