Media release: What does France have to offer the festive traveller?

WITH the countdown to Christmas well under way and the pressures of the holiday season already mounting, it’s time to plan that getaway – Christmas Markets and festivities across the channel.

Many of France’s most beautiful cities such as Carcassone, Toulouse and the Mont St Michel really glam it up for Christmas. Lyon’s Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights) attracts millions of visitors at the start of December and is not to be missed.

If Christmas is getting you all hot and bothered, then cool it down with a night in an igloo in the Aspe Valley or the ski resort of Les Gets.

For a stereotypically French food fest, try the foie gras markets of Aquitaine, champagne in Reims and Christmas markets in a Burgundy wine cellar.

Last but not least, try Europe’s oldest Christmas market in Strasbourg, home to the Christmas bauble!
