VMIX, a world leader in the provision of online video and media-management solutions, is to open two new offices in the UK, to spearhead the company’s international expansion into Europe.

The San Diego-based company has invested more than USD $25 million developing plans to establish itself as a global provider and extend the reach of its Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions for enterprise-grade online video.

“This is a well-considered step in our international growth plan,” said Pat Burns, president and CEO of VMIX, who added that an extension of the VMIX platform will follow in coming months that includes local video storage and processing to meet the needs of European-based clients.

“Establishing a presence in the UK allows us to build personal relationships with our European clients and partners, and provides critical insight into the growing online-video integration market there.”

Brian Keating has had a successful career with a number of multinational software companies and was instrumental in introducing Apple computers to Russia.

The spokesperson continued: “As the founder, chair and CEO of Thirdspace, a leading software and service company focused on enabling broadband TV, he built up Thirdspace over three years before it was acquired by Alcatel in 2003.

“Prior to founding Thirdspace, Brian was executive vice-president and chief marketing officer of Newbridge Networks, a global leader in suppling advanced multi-service switches. He was a key member of the executive team that sold the company to Alcatel in 2000 for USD $7 billion.

“Keating’s international career began in Australia where he co-founded the highly successful exhibition and publishing company, Expo Oz Pty Ltd, which was later acquired by Drake International.

“Expanding his overseas connections, Keating then became project coordinator to the European Commission and a consultant for the Russian Government in 1991. In Russia, he launched Apple Computer IMC Russia and was heavily involved in opening up the Eastern-European market for Apple.”
