IF you’ve started to shiver with hunger pangs and notice a distinct chill in the air, then you might be interested to note that the award-winning Metropolitan cocktail bar, style bar, piano lounge and Scottish a la carte restaurant in Merchant Square in the heart of Glasgow’s historic Merchant City, has introduced a series of winter warming food offers.
Available Monday to Friday from 12-5pm, offers include: soup and filled baguette (£3.95); Metropolitan burger and soft drink (£5.95); pasta bake and soft drink (£5.95)and, on Sunday from 12-6pm, a Sunday Roast for £7.95.
Alternatively, diners can relax with a leisurely two- or three-course lunch for £8.45 or £9.95.
Metropolitan manager, Darren Scott, said: “With temperatures plummeting in Glasgow, there’s nothing better than to heat yourself up with some delicious heart-warming fare. Our selection of winter warming food offers has been developed to put some heat back into your belly and keep colds at bay by staving off the winter chill factor!”
Metropolitan’s bar food menu is available from 12-8pm Sunday to Thursday and from 12-6pm Friday and Saturday. Furthermore, its Scottish a la carte restaurant upstairs on the balcony overlooking the square is open from 5pm every day, except Saturday, when its open from12pm.
Located on Candleriggs at the heart of the Merchant City, Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, Merchant Square offers an eclectic selection of restaurants and cafes.
Once part of the old Glasgow Fruit Market, Merchant Square is imbued with the history of the area’s dominating Victorian architecture, although today this sense of history blends seamlessly with the distinctly cosmopolitan ambiance that pervades the surrounding cobbled streets that bring the outside in.
