BROTHERS, Neil and Gary Lever, have opened a new Duo Footwear store to compliment their existing Duo Menswear business.
The new footwear store, situated a mere three doors along from the clothing store, launched with an opening night on the 28th of Ocotber and has been well received by the public.
Says a spokesperson: “The Levers felt that expansion was inevitable and this would let the footwear have its own space and allow the clothing store, which was bursting at the seams, to breathe again.”
According to Gary: “A separate footwear and accessories store was always on the agenda – even back before the existing clothes shop. Therefore, we feel like we’ve been building up to this point to a certain extent.
“Even though we already sell a great range of footwear, we can’t do it justice in the existing space so having a dedicated shop for footwear and accessories makes a lot of sense.
“We have physically outgrown our present shop to the extent that we just need other premises to sell what we sell, and this will give us the opportunity for growth, whether that be increasing styles carried or increasing brands stocked.
“The styling of the new shop has strong echoes of the existing shop and looks like being the perfect environment for doing what we do and together with stepping up our online presence at http://www.Duo-Menswear.com, it seems the time is right to expand in this way.
“The way we see it, we will now have in effect three separate but strongly linked businesses to look after.”
The new shop stocks footwear from Nike, Onitsuka Tiger, New Balance, Fred Perry, H by Hudson, Pointer, Gravis, Peter Werth and Supremebeing, with two new brands – Converse and Clarks Originals – due in over the next few months.
Accessories will largely come from Lyle & Scott, Fred Perry, Levi’s & Carhartt with additional brands to follow.
