MELFORT Village, a luxury self-catering resort in Kilmelford by Oban, has been awarded a 2011 Gold Crown Award for a fourth consecutive year, by Resort Condominiums International (RCI).
Says a spokesperson: “RCI is considered the worldwide leader in timeshare and vacation exchange. The Gold Crown Award is the highest accolade in the RCI Resort Recognition Programme.
“Selection to this prestigious group of superior resorts is based on two rating components.
“One is based on a 12-month compilation of comment card scores, completed by exchange guests, which assesses resort quality, service delivery and the overall holiday experience.
“The other is an independent on-site inspection of resort amenities, guest services and the unit amenities contained in each unit type.”
Melfort Village holiday properties are available to rent but the business is also one of the most successful timeshare operations in Scotland.
It is owned and managed by The Melfort Club, being the association of Melfort timeshare owners, which was formed in the late 1980’s.
Each timeshare owner has a direct say in the way the Village is run, through a professionally-qualified committee elected from the membership.
Although all original timeshare cottages were fully sold-out by the end of 1995 and no further development is planned, The Melfort Club offers a successful re-sale programme.
As quoted in their award notice to Melfort Village, RCI stated: “Through the valued partnership between RCI and Melfort Village, we share a commitment not only to meet, but also to exceed, the expectations of our mutual customers.”
