Media release: Shepherd secures 20-year lease for Prezzo at St Vincent Place, Glasgow

ACTING on behalf of landlord Strathclyde Properties, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has secured a 20-year lease for Italian restaurant chain Prezzo for 5,000 sq ft at 35/39 St Vincent Place.

Steve Barnett, partner at Shepherd’s commercial department in Glasgow, said: “This significant letting marks Prezzo’s introduction to Glasgow’s city centre and cements the reputation of the immediate vicinity as a popular restaurant location, whilst also enhancing its appeal to nearby office occupiers.

“Prezzo’s offering is very strong throughout the UK and I’m sure that the restaurant will prove to be a great success in this prime location.”

Acting together with joint agents CBRE, Shepherd is now offering a range of refurbished office suites at 39 St Vincent Place, directly above Prezzo, at £10 per sq ft.

Managing director of Strathclyde Properties, John O’Neill said, “Situated in a strong central location on the south side of St Vincent Place, 39 St Vincent Place benefits from all local shopping, business and leisure amenities and is located at the hub of the public transport system within a short walk from Queen Street and Central Station.

“These open plan office suites also benefit from underground car parking.”

Additionally, Strathclyde Properties will, if required, fit out the refurbished space to meet clients’ specific requirements, ensuring a smooth move for client businesses.

Prezzo’s menu includes a wide range of stone-baked pizzas and calzones, pastas, risottos and a selection of char-grilled chicken dishes and fresh salads. It opened its doors to the public in early December, in time for the Christmas trade.

Last September, Prezzo unveiled expansion plans for Scotland after posting a 21 per cent jump in half-year profits.

In addition to its new St Vincent Street outlet, there is a Prezzo in Silverburn Shopping Centre on the southside of Glasgow, Union Square Shopping Centre in Aberdeen and Pier Place in Edinburgh.
