AN award winning eCommerce company today (Tuesday 8th March) announced the arrival of a new workshop series which will help Scottish businesses to strengthen their online communications.

NSDesign’s ‘Embrace the Space Masterclass Series’ has been created by the company’s managing director, Gary Ennis, in response to growing demand from businesses for social media know how.

Sessions will be facilitated by Ennis, TV presenter and technology expert, Colin Kelly, and employment lawyer, David Hoey.

The series will commence with a session entitled ‘It’s all about the conversation’ – held both at Hillington Innovation Centre in Glasgow and ScotlandIS in Livingstone.

A further two sessions at each venue will follow: ‘Getting hands on with Twitter and Facebook’ and ‘Building the social strategy’.

Spaces on the workshops are limited, and will be allocated to businesses on a first come first served basis. Representatives can attend individual sessions or can sign up for all three as part of a series.

The new masterclass series was launched in response to successful feedback from a series of workshops that the eCommerce company ran in partnership with Business Gateway in 2010.

Over the past 12 months, NSDesign has been working in partnership with Business Gateway, providing expert advice and guidance to businesses about online communications.

The company has reached out to over 1,000 businesses, to date.

Gary Ennis, managing director of NSDesign, said: “We received a lot of very positive feedback about our ‘Embrace the Space’ workshops which we delivered last year.

“Much of the emphasis in the feedback was on the need for more advanced training, and that is the rationale behind our masterclass series.

“Businesses are looking to take full advantage of the real benefits that social networking can bring when it is implemented correctly, and with the right strategy and we hope our classes  will be both beneficial and popular.”

Lorna Mercer, business mentoring services at Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The ‘Embrace the Space’ session from Gary at NSDesign really brought all the social media jargon down to my level.

“He spoke in real language and did convince me that our business was missing a trick if we just refused to get involved.

“Gary showed us how to make it manageable and not allow it to take over your day. A fun, informative and relaxed workshop. I would highly recommend it for business development.”

Workshops are priced at £85 + VAT.

Discounts are available to businesses booking on to more than one workshop.

Scottish companies may be eligible for 50 per costs towards training from Skills Development Scotland.

Glasgow companies may be able to take advantage of 80 per cent grant assistance from Glasgow City Council.
