SONS and daughters are invited to take their mums back to 1901 this Mothering Sunday as the long-established bar and grill in Shawlands on Glasgow’s southside offers a three-course Mother’s Day menu for only £12.95.
Christopher Queen, general manager at 1901, said: “Treating your mum to lunch on Mother’s Day is becoming more popular every year – so we’ve pulled out all the stops this year to provide diners with a delicious menu of freshly prepared, locally sourced produce that mums are sure to love!”
1901 Mother’s Day starters include: fresh soup of the day; chicken liver pate; warm chorizo, smoked bacon and potato and baked goat’s cheese crostini.
Mains include: roast gigot of lamb with all the trimmings; baked fresh salmon steak; supreme of Ayrshire chicken stuffed with haggis; braised beef bourguignon and vegetable lasagne.
Meanwhile, sweet-toothed mums can choose from a selection of: sticky toffee pudding; fresh cheesecake of the day; orange sorbet; 1901 dessert trio and ice cream.
In addition to a grill offering delicious fresh food, the bar at 1901 at 1534 Pollokshaws Road serves up a broad selection of premium lagers, cask ales, malts and wines.
