CHARLIE Taylor, three times Scottish Hairdresser of the Year and member of the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame, is to pioneer the launch of what is believed to be the world’s first ever permanent hair colour for sensitive scalps – across her four salons in Dundee, Perth, St Andrews and Bridge of Allan this week.

Says a spokesperson: “IGORA Senea, which is being rolled out internationally later this month, is a permanent colour, tested and recommended by dermatologists* for use on delicate scalps.

“The multi-award winning hairdresser has been selected by international haircare giant, Schwarzkopf, to launch this unique and ground-breaking hair colour service to the Scottish market and, with around one out of three women perceiving their scalp as delicate, the launch is sure to pique the interest of around one third of the Scottish population.”

Charlie commented “Over the many, many years, I have been hairdressing, colouring your hair is regarded by many women as a very sensitive issue and many have stopped colouring their hair because of the discomfort experienced in the process.

“However, the launch of IGORA Senea is one of the most ground-breaking developments to happen in the last 40 years.

“Those with delicate scalps no longer need compromise on their hair colour. IGORA Senea delivers outstanding colour results for use by anyone, but particularly those with delicate scalps.

“IGORA Senea has been specifically formulated by Schwarzkopf Professional for use by anyone with a delicate scalp, and includes revolutionary Sensocalm Technology with selected colour pigments and soothing agents. Senea’s 36 brilliant shades and two developers are exceptionally mild on the skin.

“Tested and approved by the highly-respected proDERM Institute for Applied Dermatological Research, studies show that a 95 per cent of IGORA Senea users** experience high scalp comfort during coloration.”

Prof. Klaus-P. Wilhelm, founder and director of the proDERM Institute for Applied Dermatological Research, commented: “As a leading independent institute offering high-quality dermatological services based on scientific testing, we can confirm that SENEA is exceptionally mild on the skin and suitable for individuals with delicate scalps. We have therefore awarded SENEA the proDERM seal of approval.”

Charlie concluded: “We have all experienced scalp discomfort at some time, but now that doesn’t mean we have to avoid colouring our hair.

“IGORA Senea is great for those who’ve stopped colouring due to scalp discomfort; for those with delicate scalps who’ve always been afraid to colour; and for women who simply endure discomfort during permanent colouring for lack of a better option.

“We are absolutely delighted to be bringing this product to our customers in Scotland first and ahead of all other salons.”

Norbert Koll, corporate senior vice-president, Schwarzkopf Professional, commented: “IGORA Senea is an exciting and the most significant launch this year for everyone at Schwarzkopf Professional and we’re delighted to have someone of Charlie’s calibre leading the way for us in Scotland.”
