PORTLETHEN-based Downhole Products has recently increased its sales team by 22 per cent, due to a significant upturn in business and increased sales, worldwide.
The jobs, in sales and manufacturing, are located in the USA, Thailand, Dubai and Australia as well as in their head office, Portlethen.
The company has plans to open an office in Perth, Australia, later this year due to the marked increase in demand for its unique products.
Downhole will be exhibiting at OTC in Houston next week when it will launch a new exciting product which will be a far departure from its existing range. This has been a joint development with parent company Varel International Energy Services, in America.
“We are really excited about this new departure from our existing range as it gives us new opportunities in the marketplace and for us, a new direction,” said managing director, Ian Kirk. “The market today expects improved technology and this is what we like to ‘bring to the table’.”
Later this year, it will be exhibiting at the Asia Oil and Gas show in June and at Offshore Europe in September.
Two of the new members of staff, David Zamora and Tim Roth, recently visited the Portlethen HQ.
David Zamora will be based in Houston as a field sales representative. He previously worked in sales in the finance and commercial printing industries. Tim Roth will work in overseas business development.
