ACCOUNTANCY veteran, George Hecht, who has over 30 years experience as a practising chartered accountant – over 20 years of which has been as owner of his own CA practice – has launched a financial psychiatry service.

A partner in multinational CA practice PKF for six years, Hecht went on to provide consultancy services to Campbell Dallas for three years prior to joining forces with entrepreneur Craig McColligan, with whom he advised building company Rok on its acquisitions programme before establishing the 2gether Group.

His recently-established George Hecht & Associates is now introducing a financial psychiatry service.

“Rather than simply delivering a company’s accounts, I’m more interested in looking at what lies behind the figures in these accounts,” said Mr Hecht.

“What I really do is seek to add value as a financial psychiatrist.

“Given the challenging economic climate within which we presently find ourselves, many people in business are overloaded with problems. I’m here to help them, whatever their business issues might be, rather than to simply write up a set of accounts.

“Our new financial psychiatry service will formalise and expand this mentoring, hands-on,  problem-solving approach by helping to take the financial strain from clients on an ongoing basis.

“The basis for this service is my life experience, extensive knowledge of the SME market gained from dealing with banks on my clients’ behalf and the various skills within which I’ve been trained and developed over the years.

“My experience is in helping businesses overcome financial problems and thereafter helping them build a solid and profitable base for an ongoing future.”

In addition to establishing George Hecht & Associates, Hecht is co-founder of the 2gether Group, a business hub established to create an environment for embryonic and established companies to access a range of financial expertise.

The 2gether team is vastly experienced in obtaining funding packages throughout a range of business sectors and its mentors offer a range of finance, venture capital and business advice as well as such essential support services as: book-keeping; finance; insurance; recruitment and training and payroll.
