Media Release: Writers exercising minds at Glasgow health club

A NEW group set to meet at a Glasgow Southside gym plan to exercise more than just their bodies.

The writers’ support group, due to start on the last Friday of this month at Greens Health and Fitness club in Giffnock, is the idea of Robert Beedham, former advertising man, international award-winning scriptwriter/film producer, successful author – and gym member.

“I discovered recently that Greens has several published and many aspiring writers so the thought of a writers’ group emerged from that,” said Robert.

“People are at the gym to work out and keep fit, but the writers’ group will help them exercise their minds as well.

“Beginners are just as welcome as any established writers and in any genre as well. The plan is to meet once a month for about an hour and a half at Greens for six or weight weeks, depending on the response.

“I’ve put posters up in the gym but if anyone is interested then I’d be pleased to hear from them.”

The first group meeting will take place at Greens Health and Fitness Club in Giffnock at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 26.

Robert can be contacted on 0141 637 0099.
