MARIE Curie Cancer Care celebrated its 60th anniversary last night at Holyrood, inviting guests to come together for a Blooming Great Tea Party in honour of the charity’s birthday.
Around 45 MSP’s joined Marie Curie Cancer Care volunteers, hospice and nursing staff for a cup of tea and a slice of cake to mark 60 years of the charity providing the highest quality end of life care for people with cancer and other illnesses, and offering support to their families, completely free.
Maggie White, caring services manager for Marie Curie Cancer Care, Scotland commented: “We are very proud to be celebrating the charity’s 60th year of service, and particularly in the magnificent surroundings of Holyrood.”
