Media Release: The personal touch in short-lets

IT’S a problem familiar to any business executive or traveller – arriving in a new place for the first time with your accommodation cold and unwelcoming and no idea even where to go to get a pint of milk.

Braemore Deluxe Residences has resolved this by introducing the first 24/7 complimentary concierge of its kind in Scotland dedicated to individual properties.

Braemore has appointed mother-of-three, Jacqueline Anderson, 47, to ensure guests are met with a home away from home when they arrive at one its luxury Edinburgh city centre residences.

Says a spokesperson: “While hit shows such as Hotel Babylon have showed in perhaps lurid ways how people are increasingly demanding upmarket personal attention, Jacqueline’s job is to ensure guests are not confronted with the typical faceless service culture in most chain hotels.

“Jacqueline’s official duties include greeting guests and providing them with a warm and lit-up apartment, filled with basic essentials, as well as some treats including cakes and whisky.”

Unofficially, her duties are as wide-reaching as the clients’ demands 24-hours a day. She suggests places to go with children, the nearest local food shop and the best restaurants in town. Jacqueline has even helped a group with their washing.

Jacqueline, a seasoned traveller, is keen that visitors to Edinburgh are equipped with all they need for a stress-free and enjoyable stay.

She said: “I know all too well what it is like travelling with children or even arriving as a business person and not having a point of contact there to run things by.

“A lot of people have already researched Edinburgh before they come and do not need much guidance but I think it is reassuring for them to have me there, and also to arrive to a comfortable home.

“I haven’t had too many strange requests yet but I imagine there will be some. I am happy to help people have as enjoyable a stay as possible and if I can help out with the niggly things that can upset a break then fantastic.”
