TWENTY-one year-old Emily Lamb, from Busby in the south side of Glasgow, looks set to follow in the footsteps of Jimmy Choo, when examples of the footwear she designed is showcased in a prestigious private viewing for fashion industry bigwigs at The Royal Academy of Art on the 29th May.

She said: “It’s a tremendous honour to have examples of my work on display at the Royal Academy of Art, and I’m told by my lecturers at LCF that it should go a long way to helping me secure a start in the very competitive fashion business.

“I’ve always wanted to follow in the footsteps of Jimmy Choo and now that’s starting to look like something more than a pipedream!”

Ms Lamb’s work will be shown at the Graduate Show at London College of Fashion, open to the public from 2nd – 12th July.

Says a spokesperson: “With accessories and footwear recognised as two of the fastest-growing areas of the global fashion industry, London College of Fashion joined forces with the world-renowned Cordwainers College in 2000. London College of Fashion enjoys a close relationship with the city’s fashion industry and livery companies that support to the footwear and accessories courses.

“Shoe-making is taught by the Cordwainers team in specialist workshops where students learn through practical experimentation and the application of their technical skills.”
