THE family of a 12 year-old boy who died during an after school football practice at a Dundee school is launching a charity in his name.
Yusef Abubaker died six months ago in the Harris Academy tragedy and his parents, father Abubaker, 42 and mother, Alison, 43 believe this will be a fitting tribute to their son’s name.
“Yusef was always planning a charity event or being part of one so he would very much like what we are doing,” said Abubaker, who is director of operations at the city’s Al-Maktoum Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies.
The aim of the Yusef Abubaker Memorial Trust, with full charitable status, is to help in the areas of health, sport, education and poverty both locally and globally.
