NHS Lothian has announced the roll-out of the self-referral physiotherapy service
today, aimed at improving access to treatment and speeding up recovery.
Patients will be able to refer themselves directly to the Edinburgh Community
Physiotherapy Service clinics without having to see a GP first.
The physiotherapist
will then assess whether the patients’ condition is likely to benefit from
physiotherapy advice.
