Media Release: Inverclyde Council first in Scotland to allow voting by SMS text message in transfer ballot

INVERCLYDE tenants will be able to vote by text message in the forthcoming ballot on housing transfer. This is the first time in Scotland that text messaging has been used in a transfer ballot or, indeed, any other kind of public referendum.

Tenants will now be able to vote by post, phone, Internet or text message. When the ballot papers arrive with tenants Thursday 9 November there will be a two-part security code which tenants will be able to use when voting by text, phone or internet.

Tenants will continue to be able to vote by post in the conventional way.

YOU too can post a media release on allmediascotland.com. For more information, email here.
