NHS Lothian has achieved a key government target on the vaccinations which prevent measles, mumps or rubella in children.
More than 95 per cent of eligible five year-olds in Lothian have had the first MMR inoculation, according to figures published today.
This is ahead of the target level set by the Scottish Government.
Dr Lorna Willocks, immunisation co-ordinator, NHS Lothian, said: “It’s excellent news, that so many parents have ensured their children will be protected against what can be very serious diseases.”
