Media Release: SSCN newsletter nominated for two awards

THE Scottish Stem Cell Network newsletter, ‘SSCN News’, has been nominated in two categories in the CiB Scotland Awards 2008.

Its quarterly publication has been shortlisted in the Best Member Publication and Best External Newsletter categories, the first time the SSCN has won a nomination along with its newsletter publisher, Route1Creative.

The Edinburgh-based not-for-profit organisation, with funding from Scottish Enterprise, brings together scientists, academics, clinicians and businesses to help in the advance of stem cell biology towards new treatments for regenerative diseases.

“We are very pleased to win these two nominations,” said the SSCN executive director, Dr Marilyn Robertson.

“We strive to make the newsletter as up-to-date, attractive, interesting and informative as possible for SSCN members.

“The newsletter also gives members a chance to express their opinions and share their expertise so it makes for stimulating reading.”

CiB Scotland (British Association of Communicators in Business) received a record number of entries for the 2008 awards.

“The quality has been absolutely superb,” said Roy Carter, CiB Scotland chair.
