Media Release: Competition copies of Ashanti Gold now available for radio and newspapers

HOTLY-tipped to be this summer’s blockbuster, Ashanti Gold is a pure, unbridled adventure story full of twists. A fast-paced, exciting page-turner, it’s also based on a true story.

Set in 1970s London, Glaswegian, Colin Grant, is finally out of jail. After four years at Her Majesty’s pleasure, Colin needs to make up for lost time, but when his firm’s next robbery goes wrong, he knows it’s time to move on – fast. And nobody will be looking for him at his uncle’s place in Africa.

No more crime, no more jail, no more hassle. But when his uncle takes him on a visit to the richest gold mine in West Africa, it’s the start of an adventure that could end in either unbelievable riches or certain death.

Born in Glasgow in 1937, the middle son of three boys, at 15 James Crosbie went to work in the Clydeside shipyards and, at 17, joined the RAF. Ever the adventurer, he spent several years in Ghana and Nigeria before becoming a private pilot. He started a successful furniture importing business but, despite its success, turned to a life of crime. After 20 years behind bars, James Crosbie finally realised that crime doesn’t pay. James Crosbie lives in Glasgow.

Ashanti Gold by James Crosbie is published by Black & White.
