Media Release: Bauer Radio Network presents intimate Lily Allen gig for listeners

THE Bauer Radio Network has secured exclusive broadcast rights for the homecoming second leg of pop icon Lily Allen’s world tour.

The broadcaster is building on its reputation of bringing the best in live music to its listeners by offering the chance to enjoy the concert on Sunday November 22nd. Nineteen of Bauer’s network of stations will air the gig, which is expected to reach 6.1 million listeners across the UK.

The evening will start at 7pm, and will run across: Clyde 1, Forth One, Borders, West FM, MFR, Tay FM and Northsound as well as two national digital stations, The Hits and Heat Radio.

Earlier this year, over 20 Bauer Radio Network stations across Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, including Clyde 1, Forth and Northsound broadcast U2’s 360° Don Valley stadium experience in Sheffield and the broadcaster is keen to keep up the momentum.

Ric Blaxill, head of Music for the Big City Network, said:

“We are delighted to be working with Lily Allen on this broadcast and bringing this exclusive event to our millions of listeners across the network.

“We had fantastic feedback from our broadcast of U2 in the summer and this is a great example of how our listeners can benefit from listening to the very best of talent whether it is huge stadium gigs with the biggest rock band on the planet or small intimate gigs like Lily Allen.”

Graham Bryce, MD Bauer Radio Scotland, said:

“Securing the rights to broadcast part of Lily Allen’s homecoming leg of her world tour is a big coup for Bauer Media. Our U2 project earlier in the year was one of the biggest commercial radio events of 2009. The spectrum of our offering from these huge stadium gigs with the biggest band in the world to small intimate gigs with a homegrown pop icon like Lily shows how passionate we are about bringing the very best in live music to our listeners.

“This kind of premium cross-networking also ensures that no matter where our listeners are we are delivering sought after and entertaining content to them. Our programming plans allow our listeners to enjoy this exclusive sold out gig wherever they are.”
