THE Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and Trees of Scotland have teamed up to offer an unique Christmas gift.
In a new fundraising initiative for the children’s charity, for every tree dedicated at Craig’s Farm Estate in Glen Afton, Trees of Scotland will donate £20 to CHAS, which represents over 40 per cent of the purchase price.
Trees can be dedicated on behalf of friends or family, for special events such as marriages, births or to commemorate the life of a loved one.
Each tree has its own plaque including a special message from the buyer who will also receive a certificate of dedication, a visitors map of the site and some history of Glen Afton.
Audrey Wadsworth, from Trees of Scotland, said: “We’re very proud to be associated with CHAS. Our new woodland is not only a new and dynamic fundraiser for CHAS but it represents a lasting and permanent legacy. We believe that the personal, caring and long term nature of our trees are qualities that are a reflection of the work done by CHAS.”
Debbie Traynor, CHAS fundraising manager, said: “Trees of Scotland’s generous donation will help benefit children and young people who use CHAS services across Scotland.”
Craig’s Farm Estate in Glen Afton is a picturesque valley nestling deep in the heart of Burns country and steeped in the history of Wallace and Bruce.
Trees of Scotland guarantees that their land will never be deforested, meaning dedications last a lifetime.

The Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
A children’s hospice offers professional care, practical help and emotional support to the whole family usually from the day of acceptance, to the death of their child, and beyond.
Rachel House in Kinross, Scotland’s first children’s hospice, opened in March 1996. Robin House in Balloch opened in August 2005. Both hospices are purpose-built and each can provide ongoing support for up to 200 families across Scotland each year. The CHAS at Home Team offers support to families referred to the hospices by providing a care service to families in their own homes when they need it most.
