Media Release: Christmas fun for CHAS

CHRISTMAS shoppers visiting The Centre, Livingston, on Friday 18 December, are in for a festive treat with special events in aid of The Centre’s nominated charity the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).

The fun starts at 11am at Elements Square with carol singing from Bathgate Academy pupils until 12 noon.  Between 11am- 4pm CHAS staff and volunteers will be offering a present wrapping service in return for a minimum £1 donation. A face painter and balloon modeller from Elite Face Painting will also be on hand to keep children entertained.

Shoppers can pop into the new CHAS shop at Almondvale Walk, open between 11am-3pm to find great bargains, from donated toys, games, books and bric-a-brac, to Christmas cards and CHAS logo goods.

The CHAS store accepts donations of unwanted, good quality accessories, books and toys and bric-a-brac and new or unwanted items for tombola prizes such as gift sets, teddies, CDs and DVDs. CHAS are also keen to hear from anyone interested in volunteering in the new shop.

Amy Telford, CHAS fundraiser, said: “We’ve had fantastic support for our new CHAS shop and hope that this event on Friday 18 December will encourage more families to support CHAS.”

The Centre is one of Scotland’s newest and fastest-growing regional shopping destinations.

Jennifer Bruce, marketing manager for The Centre, added: “CHAS is a very worthwhile charity which helps many Scottish children and their families so I am delighted the new CHAS store at The Centre has been received so well by our visitors.

“Christmas is a time for giving so I hope shoppers will enjoy the activities and gift wrapping service offered by CHAS next Friday in return for a festive donation.”
