Media Release: Future lawyers raising money for victims of crime

LAW students at Edinburgh University – in association with theatre companym SpartaKi – are producing and acting in ‘A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and a Prayer’ as part of V-Day 2010 at the Cabaret Bar, Edinburgh on 11 and 12 March, 2010.

And they are donating the proceeds to Victim Support Scotland.

V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women of all ages and is the organisation behind the award-winning Vagina Monologues.

‘A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and a Prayer’ is their recent groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, including pieces for and by men.

The diverse voices expose and examine the insidiousness of violence at all levels: brutality, neglect, a punch, even a put-down.

The production will be staged at The Cabaret Bar, 33 The Pleasance, Edinburgh EH8 9TJ, tickets £5 (or donation price of £10). For tickets telephone Lizzie McCabe on 07834 236437 or e-mail at: lizziemccabe@hotmail,co.uk
