WORK is underway to improve the road surfaces around St John’s Hospital.
From this week, resurfacing works have started on the internal roads within the hospital grounds.
Some traffic restrictions may apply over the next two months as the work takes place, but access to the car parks, bus stops, and A&E will not be restricted.
Appointments and visiting hours will also not be affected, but patients should make sure they leave some extra time when travelling to the hospital for an appointment.
John Jack, site director for St John’s Hospital, NHS Lothian, said:
“These works will improve the internal roads around the hospital, for patients, staff and visitors who are coming to St John’s.
“I would ask anyone coming to St John’s to be patient while we carry out these road improvements and apologise for any disruption which we hope to keep to a minimum.”
