Media Release: Media invitation – pupils win competition to promote Clyde boat trips

SCHOOL PUPILS FIND PROMOTING ‘CLASSROOM ON THE CLYDE’ PLAIN SAILING

Dear colleague,

You are invited to attend a photocall / interview opportunity to announce the winners of a challenge set by Clydewaterfront to pupils of Holyrood Secondary School, to create advertising materials and a new jingle to promote educational boat trips on the River Clyde.

Following the successful launch by Clyde Waterfront Strategic Partnership last year of ‘Classroom on the Clyde’ river trips for schools, the pupils who went on the river trip last September, were set the challenge to create an alternative commentary for use on Clyde Marine Services’ MV Cruiser, a promotional poster or leaflet and a jingle to advertise the trips this year.

The pupils are using the Clyde Waterfront’s regeneration as the central feature of their Social Studies curriculum this term and groups of pupils in each of the 14 classes created their own ideas and the 14 ‘finalist groups’ will be presenting their ideas to a panel of experts.

Details are as follows;

VENUE:
