Media Release: Weber Shandwick hires Lloyds’ Hussain

LEADING public relations consultancy, Weber Shandwick, has made a significant hire with the appointment of Harry Hussain as associate director.

Hussain joins the consultancy’s team from Lloyds Banking Group where he was media relations manager. During his time at Lloyds he predominantly managed issues relating to HBOS’ acquisition by Lloyds TSB and the financial crisis.

He has over eight years experience in both agency and in-house PR, specialising in corporate, public sector and government communications.

Hussain will be based in the consultancy’s Edinburgh office and will work on a range of client accounts across Scotland and the UK, mainly in corporate and B2B sectors, and will immediately contribute to new business development.

He said: “An increasing number of businesses are looking to PR once more as a primary means of communicating to their target audiences.  I aim to use my experience to expand our client base in Scotland’s corporate sector and offer our existing clients a different perspective on their campaigns.”

Speaking on Hussain’s appointment, Lesley Clark, deputy managing director of Weber Shandwick in Scotland, said: “Harry is a key appointment for Weber Shandwick.  He rightly commands enormous respect across the industry and his sector knowledge and contacts will prove a significant asset to our clients and our business.”

Weber Shandwick’s Edinburgh office has been further boosted with the addition of Jennifer Butler, who joins from 3×1 as an account manager. Butler has experience of consumer, corporate and business-to-business campaigns. She previously served on the CIPR Scotland Committee and is a graduate of St Andrews University.

Weber Shandwick has four offices in Scotland: Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness.
