Media Release: Revolver partners with Game In Scotland 2010

REVOLVER, one of Scotland’s leading digitally-enabled PR agencies, is providing PR and communications support for the 2010 Game In Scotland recruitment fair.

Now in its fifth year, Game In Scotland is the country’s only dedicated recruitment event for the large – and growing – videogames industry.

Created by Scottish Enterprise and sponsored by Interactive Tayside, Locate Dundee, MEDIA and Fat Sams nightclub, Game In Scotland provides an unique opportunity for those interested in a career making videogames, to meet the companies, find out the skills required and discover the scale of the industry, in Scotland and the UK as a whole.

In 2009, the event attracted over 500 visitors, from across the whole of the UK. Several universities around Britain offered free bus services to and from Dundee, allowing students to attend the event.

The vast majority of Scotland’s game developers will be present at the event, including companies such as Dynamo Games, Hunted Cow, Cohort Studios, VeeMee, Digital Goldfish and Realtime Worlds.

Donna Fordyce, project manager of Game In Scotland, says: “The videogames sector in Scotland has always been strong, but I don’t think many people are aware of just how large or diverse it actually is. We have large console and PC game developers, iPhone studios, social gaming studios and everything in between.

“Game In Scotland is the only event of its kind in the UK, which gives anyone with an interest in creating videogames, a chance to meet the key companies, find out the skills they’re looking for, hear from studio heads and experts and leave their CV with the companies they’re interested in.”

Iain Bruce, managing director of Revolver, agrees: “Revolver’s new interactive entertainment division has hit the ground running. Game In Scotland is a fantastic event, which really illustrates the strength and scope of the games industry. We’re very pleased to be working with the event to make 2010 the most successful Game In Scotland yet.”

Game In Scotland takes place in Fat Sams, Dundee on May 22nd 2010, starting at noon. Entrance is free, but registration is required to guarantee entry. Visit www.gameinscotland.com to register and find out the full event programme.
