Media Release: Green fun at environmental day

LOOKING for free family events this summer?

The Almond Neighbourhood Partnership invites you to Cramond promenade on Thursday 15 July for Environment Day

The day has been organised in partnership by the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership, West Neighbourhood Team, the North-West Eco Club and the Countryside Ranger Service

Featuring a dog agility challenge, guided walks to Cramond Island, the ‘Bike Doctor’ workshop, face painting and a tour of the roman fort, to name just a few.

All the events aim to promote the beautiful environment and the services provided in this area.

The Fire Brigade, Police and Coast Guard will be there, alongside the Council’s Environmental Wardens and Countryside Rangers who will be highlighting responsible behaviour and looking at how they tackle littering, graffiti, illegal dumping and dog fouling. Visitors will be able to find out about all kinds of volunteering opportunities, adopting green spaces and promoting biodiversity.

Cllr Norman Work, chair of the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership, said:

“This event is a great way of showcasing the wide and varied work of the Almond Neighbourhood Partnership, and will provide lots of fun entertainment at the same time. I’d like to thank all of those involved for their hard work in making Environment Day happen.”

Environment Day has free admission and will run from 10:30am until 3pm on Thursday 15 July at Cramond (at the promenade below Cramond public car park).
