Media Release: Sell-out success for inaugural In:Demand Live

BAUER Media Scotland’s recent In:Demand Live event has been declared a runaway success after selling out in its first year.

Almost 10,000 music fans across Scotland snapped up the tickets to the show which took place at the SECC on Saturday 31st July.

In:Demand Live was created to celebrate Bauer Radio’s highly-successful national evening programme strand In:Demand, hosted by Romeo, and broadcast across seven Bauer stations in Scotland from Aberdeen to the Borders.

An incredible 18 top chart names took to the stage at the SECC during the five-hour extravaganza making the £25 ticket price incredible value (c. £1.39 per act) and feedback from gig-goers, the music industry and Scottish media has been resoundingly positive.

The full line-up for the show read like a Who’s Who of the pop world: JLS, The Saturdays, McFly, The Script,  Alexandra Burke, Tinchy Stryder, Alesha Dixon, The Hoosiers, Diana Vickers, Alex Gardner, Fugative, Professor Green, Eliza Doolittle, Example, The Wanted, Carrie Mac, BeatBullyz and Basshunter.

The radio campaign launched back in May and ran for ten weeks on Bauer’s eight Scottish FM stations – Clyde 1, Forth One, West FM, West Sound FM, MFR, Tay FM, Radio Borders and Northsound 1.

Online and social media activity drove fans to the official website in their hundreds of thousands and the press campaign to date has generated over 450 cuts with still more coming in on a daily basis. In:Demand Live was broadcast as a four hour programme across the entire Bauer Scotland FM network.

Siobhan Crampsey, head of Events at Bauer Media Scotland and organiser of In:Demand Live, says:

“We’re delighted at the success of the first In:Demand Live. For a show like this to establish itself so quickly and sell-out in its first year, especially in the current climate, is extraordinary. It’s a real testament to Bauer’s great relationships with key partners – from record labels and other Scottish media to Df Concerts and the SECC itself – and, of course, to the expertise of our in-house ‘crack team’ of engineers, producers and presenters. The entire crew just gelled from the start and the event was seamless……roll on next year!”

Graham Bryce, managing director Scotland Radio, Bauer Media, said:

“The Bauer Radio Network is building its reputation for bringing the very best live music to listeners and this gig was the biggest pop event in Scotland for many years. With our local audiences at the heart of everything we do, we are delighted to be able to continuously innovate to connect our audiences to live music right across the country.”

In:Demand with Romeo is on air Monday-Friday between 7 and 10pm (8-10pm on Clyde 1) and is packed with artist interviews, exclusive tracks, great competitions and the best gossip from the world of music and entertainment.

Ends.
